India, Analyzed is an independent, non-commercial project for exploring public data about India, one district at a time.
Who builds it
One person works with AI coding tools to prepare data, build the site and check its outputs. This is not a government service or a newsroom. Automated checks help catch errors; they cannot guarantee that every source observation is correct.
What you can explore
The district explorer provides a map, a table, period and area controls, state filtering, shareable links and CSV downloads. District pages show dated readings with source notes and permitted comparisons. State pages provide selected direct state observations.
The active dataset catalog describes this release. The warehouse retains additional research data, including village-level observations, but that is not a claim of public coverage. Authored stories, uploads and village exploration are outside this first release.
How to read the figures
Sources cover different years and geographic boundaries. Missing data is not zero. Suppressed values are withheld; inferred values are labelled and excluded from comparison statistics. Rankings run from highest to lowest, not from best to worst, and are unavailable where the display rules do not permit them.
Read the methodology and source register before comparing places. A current map outline does not make a historical observation a current-boundary estimate.
How it works
The warehouse prepares a static dataset before publication. The website serves those files and looks up the prepared values; it does not query the warehouse or ask an AI model to generate answers when you open a page.
No account or payment is required. Use the report-a-problem controls to flag a questionable figure with its displayed period and source. Maps are indicative visualisations, not authoritative boundary records. See the terms and disclaimer.
