Privacy
India, Analyzed has no accounts or advertising. We save browser settings to make the site work as you choose. Usage analytics is optional: it stays off until you accept. Every page, map and download works without accepting analytics.
Your choices
Only necessary keeps analytics off. Accept all allows the cookieless analytics described below; it does not authorise future advertising. Reopen Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawing consent stops subsequent analytics requests, including on the current page. We also disable analytics when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. If browser storage is unavailable, analytics stays off.
Optional usage analytics
Our self-hosted Umami service at stats.indiaanalyzed.com measures page views and interactions such as selecting a district, choosing an indicator and using search. Search events contain the query length, not the text you typed. We remove query strings and fragments from page and referring URLs before sending analytics. Umami also receives technical information such as browser, device and referrer to produce aggregate reports. Browser-level visitor estimates are not a count of identifiable people.
No analytics cookies are set. Deliberately tagged owner and test visits carry a role label so we can distinguish testing from public use. Ordinary visitors are not assigned that label. Declining analytics does not disable the hosting and map requests needed to display the site.
Hosting, maps and corrections
- Cloudflare Pages serves the site and processes network requests, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. Some map files are served from Cloudflare R2.
- Basemaps load directly from services including OpenFreeMap and Esri. Those providers receive the network details needed to serve their tiles; their own privacy policies apply.
- A correction you choose to send can include the affected page, figure and source, your explanation and an optional reply address. Do not include sensitive personal information. If the online form is enabled, its spam check uses Cloudflare Turnstile.
